The Honeycomb

Das Dutch Village Inn, 150 East, OH-14, Columbiana, OH 44408

The Honeycomb

A new show from Jeff will combine stories life and weave them into something we all can relate to.  Stories about Mom, Dad, divorce, dancing, memory loss, Alzheimer's, funeral homes and beach balls and so much more. An honest look at a life filled with laughter and tears, sometimes all at once. Jeff never considers himself just a piano player or musician. He is sort of a caboodled mystic, wrapped around a piano in pursuit of telling a story in the best way possible. Crossing paths with those moments in life that we all encounter, but sometimes don’t want to talk about, he finds a way to give us a hook to hang those stories on.

In The Honeycomb, he is showing us ways to not only store up memories, but not be afraid to take them out and look at them, both the good and the bittersweet. To pull them from the honeycombs of our hearts.

The show will run approximately 80-90 minutes.

Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 7843 Smucker Road, Smithville, OH

Boots, Buckets & Barrows, is coming to Smithville, OH on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 7843 Smucker Rd, Smithville, OH. This event is part theater/ part auction, to raise awareness, funds, and volunteers for Mennonite Disaster Service. Please come prepared to bid on auction items or make a donation! All funds raised will benefit the work of MDS restoring homes and hope for those affected by natural disaster.

Featuring the show, The Jesus Stories, created and performed by Ted Swartz and Jeff Raught, with original songs by Jeff. There are many Gospel stories of Jesus gathered around tables. There was food to eat and food for thought, exploring who was invited to those tables and who showed up. The miracles of Jesus were sometimes ordinary stories with extraordinary results.

Ted and Jeff offer a fresh look at the Gospel stories and discover that when uncorked, these stories pour out sparkling drops of laughter Jesus must have found in the people he met along the way. Ted and Jeff have gathered these stories, mixing in a pinch of humor, a dollop of song and several servings of pasta with some cheese and wine on the side. Bon Appetit!
