There's that verse in Philippians 4:6 that says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Yet I often think of those first six words that say do not be anxious about anything. Really? I shouldn't be anxious about ANYTHING? Ha! Not gonna happen. Oh it might not spill to my exterior or it might not be long lasting, but I am anxious from time to time. It manifests in different ways and only those closest to me see it. If I were sitting with the Apostle Paul and he said "hey, how about this? Do not be anxious about anything...."before he finished the sentence I would decry BULLSHIT! Come on Paul, I've got faith, I really do but that does not feel realistic to wander through life and never have anxiety about something. Yet I know that after that knee jerk reaction, there is a place.
So go ahead say BULLSHIT, just don't stay there in the bitter.
